Antoine Frantz is from Deschapelles, Artibonite, and graduated from the Ecole Agricole Fondation Vincent Salésien de Don Bosco. Here, he received his diploma as an agroforestry technician. He has been working with HTRIP since 2007 as technician field coordinator. At HTRIP, he independently supervises large materials purchases, and helps negotiate contracts labour, and small construction projects. He also works closely with MODEVKV on the shade-crops research project on yam and passion fruit.
Jean Charles Adjeff
Jean Charles Adjeff is from Petite Riviere de l’Artibonite, and obtained his diploma in agricultural technique from Ecole Technique Agricole au Salésien Don Bosco in Cap Haïtien, Haiti. Adjeff has been working at HTRIP since 2008. He has previously worked at several other organizations namely Partners in Health Haiti and ECOSOF S.A. He had also attained various seminars on ecological sanitation and Wilderness First Aid technique. Besides leading training session in HTRIP communities, he also assists MODEVKV in data collection on the field for the shade crop research project.
Marielle Vameus is the only female technician working for HTRIP. She is from the Artibonite and was trained in Port-au-Prince at the Centre de Formation Agricole de Petite Place Cazeau. At HTRIP, besides assisting 5 HTRIP communities in agroforestry training and soil conservation work, Marielle also plays an important role in the organization and realization of HTRIP monthly leaders meetings and HTRIP graduation ceremonies that happen every year.
Misteus Ulysse is from Dofine, which is one of the HTRIP communities in the District of Verettes. He went to school in Cap Haitien at the Ecole Agricole Fondation Vincent Salésien de Don Bosco. He has been working at HTRIP since 2009 as an agroforestry technician. Besides knowing how to deliver intelligent education sessions on agroforestry themes, Misteus is also a proficient mason.
Joseph Spaulguens (shown on right)
Joseph Spaulguens is from Deschapelles, Artibonite. He serves as a temporary worker at the HTRIP central nursery in Deschapelles. Spaulguens helps with composting, nursery cleaning/maintenance, and tree distribution in the communities.
Alvaresse Petit-Noel is a nursery gardener and farmer from Desarmes, Artibonite who since 1995 has been putting his great plant knowledge to the use of several communities that are part of the HTRIP service area. He joined the team in 2006 and since then has been in charge of the central nursery in Deschapelles where 17% of the timber trees are produced. He also helps in seed collection, composting, and advises leaders in nursery management technics.
Alexandre Albertini is from Verettes, Artibonite and is a longtime HTRIP employee. He went to went to school in Cap Haitien at the Ecole Agricole Fondation Vincent Salésien de Don Bosco where he received his diploma as an agroforestry technician. Albertini has been working as HTRIP agroforestry technician since 2007. He has 5 HTRIP communities under his supervision, and delivers technical assistance to each of them monthly.
Mathurin Dorceus was trained in Petit-Goave at Institut Chretien de la Vie Rurale. He has worked for many other organizations that focus on reforestation in Port-au-Prince and Petit-Goave. Mathurin has been working at HTRIP since the start of the project in 2006. He has also collaborated on the installation of a large number of HTRIP demonstration and experimental plots.
Pharelus Ironce is from Verettes. He went to school in Port-au-Prince at the Centre de Formation Agricole de Petite Place Cazeau where he studied to become an Agroforestry technician. He worked for many other community-based projects before being appointed to the HTRIP program in 2009 as a technician.
Shellon Mondesir is from Anger which is one of HTRIP’s oldest communities. He went to school in Deschapelles, and this also where he lives. Before joining the HTRIP team in 2011, Shellon worked as an extension agent for several community based health projects such as Malaria and HIV prevention programs. He also has extensive experience in rural farming and owns a rice farm in the Artibonite Valley. At HTRIP, Shellon manages the HTRIP’s warehouse where all the tools and other materials are stored.
Carice Luc Albert
Carice Luc Albert is from Deschapelles, and has started working with HTRIP from the beginning. He studied administration and computer science at the Institut Superieur de Bibliotheconomie et de Gestion in Port-au-Prince. Carice helps HTRIP with transport and logistics.
Fenel Plaisil is from Desarmes, Artibonite and he is one of the HTRIP drivers. He learned the basic of car maintenance at a mechanic shop in Port-au-Prince. He started working for HTRIP in 2007. Fenel is also a farmer who produces sweet potatoes, okra, yuka, and black beans in the Artibonite.
Frantz Saul Louis
Frantz Saul is from Deschapelles, Artibonite. He studied mechanics at Ecole Mecanique Sainte Trinite de Port-au-Prince. He became a full time employee to the HTRIP project in 2007. At HTRIP, Saul also provides great support to the HTRIP technicians by helping out with some field work such as carrying and delivering trees, tools, and other materials for the HTRIP communities.
